About

GateHouse Transitional Living's King house is a peer-run recovery home for women in Lancaster city, operated by the Lancaster nonprofit GateHouse. Residents have a live-in house manager, a full-time on-call coordinator and case-management oversight; they attend weekly house meetings, stay employed, attend outpatient drug and alcohol counseling and go to five 12-step meetings a week, and most stay three months to a year. Move-in requires a security deposit plus two weeks' rent (amount varies by house), and scholarships may be available for qualifying Medicaid residents from Lancaster, Lebanon, Cumberland, Perry, Dauphin, York or Adams counties; homes are PARR-certified, GateHouse is one of Lancaster County's contracted recovery house providers, and this house holds Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs recovery house license 367018RH.
